Leeds United have turned down the offer to sign Harry Winks from Tottenham Hotspur in the summer transfer window, according to The Athletic.

It has been reported today that Tottenham midfielder Winks was offered to Leeds on a loan deal in the summer transfer window.

The West Yorkshire club decided to turn it down.

Good decision from Leeds United?

Winks is a very good midfielder who has a lot of experience in the Premier League and has been playing for a big club (Tottenham).

The midfielder has scored two goals in 110 appearances in the Premier League so far in his career.

The England international is tidy on the ball, sprays some wonderful passes, and can be a good supporting player in the middle of the park.

Winks is not really a player who can be an imposing figure in the middle of the park and needs good footballers around him to play at the best of his ability.

Leeds do have a good midfield department, but there is always room for quality players.

Winks joining Leeds on loan from Tottenham would have given head coach Marcelo Bielsa a good option.

You wonder why Leeds did not accept the offer.

Perhaps Winks’s wages are too high? Or maybe Bielsa did not think that the England international would fit into his style of play?
