Harry Winks needed just one word to laud Tottenham Hotspur teammate Jan Vertonghen after his landmark appearance for the club.

Jan Vertonghen took to Twitter to comment on the fact that Tottenham’s defeat to West Brom at the weekend marked his 250th appearance for Spurs, and his tweet prompted teammate Harry Winks to send a brief but clear message in response.
Mauricio Pochettino’s men became the latest victims as the Baggies continued their remarkable surge that has given them the slightest chance of an incredible great escape as former Spurs ace Jake Livermore scored the game’s only goal in the final minutes.

It was a disappointing day for Spurs. With Liverpool losing away at Chelsea on Sunday, Tottenham would have known that a win the previous day would have seen them move up to third with a game in hand over the Reds.
Their fate is still in their own hands of course, but Spurs must now beat Newcastle United and Leicester City to guarantee a top four finish. And ahead of the clash with the Magpies on Wednesday, Vertonghen insisted that Tottenham must put the result behind them – though he did allude to the fact that the game was an extremely significant one for him personally.
