Winks was selected for the Three Lions’ squad for their last two World Cup qualifying matches by Gareth Southgate, and the youngster made his debut for his country against Lithuania yesterday.

Not only do they have a wonderful coach in Mauricio Pochettino, but Winks’ rapid progression proves just how quickly youngsters at Spurs can rise to prominence.
Winks has made just four Premier League starts for Tottenham, but is already ahead of the likes of Jonjo Shelvey and Mark Noble in the pecking order for places in the England squad.
And any English youngster seeing the progress that Spurs players have made since Pochettino took charge, will surely be enthused – if Tottenham do make a bid for them.
