Harry Winks spoke exclusively to Sky Sports (Tuesday August 6th, 14:13) about Tanguy Ndombele’s impact at Tottenham, and suggested that he has been mightily impressed by the Frenchman’s quality.

The 22-year-old France international joined Spurs from Lyon in June for a fee that could eventually rise to £62.8 million, according to BBC Sport.

Much is expected of Ndombele at Tottenham, after his superb season in Ligue 1 with Lyon last term.

He will certainly add more energy and dynamism to Mauricio Pochettino’s engine room, and that could prove to be vital for Spurs this season.

The north London outfit have looked short in midfield since Mousa Dembele left for China, and Pochettino will be hoping that the France international can help fill the void left behind by the Belgian.

Winks spoke to Sky Sports today, and suggested that he has been impressed by what he has seen from Ndombele thus far:

“He has been fantastic. The lads are helping him settle in but he’s still learning the language. That’s a bit of a problem with the language barrier. But he’s been great on the field and everyone has been looking forward to seeing what he can show this season.”

Hopefully Ndombele won’t feel the pressure that will undoubtedly accompany him because of his huge price-tag.

The Frenchman will definitely need time to settle at Tottenham before he can be judged, but according to Winks, the early signs are looking good.
