While Ben Woodburn took many of the plaudits with a superb individual showing, Reds prospect Harry Wilson continued his outstanding season, scoring his 23rd and 24th goals for the second string in the process.
The 19-year-old right winger has been tipped for big things at Anfield for quite some time now, and this season he has definitely stepped up with a 30-goal campaign looking all but guaranteed with three months of the season remaining.
The youngest ever player to be capped by Wales, Wilson has had to wait patiently for a first-team chance at Liverpool, making his debut in the FA Cup third round replay against Plymouth Argyle last month. But on this evidence he could be a goal-scoring hero for the Reds for years to come.
Jurgen Klopp will not want to rush him, and scoring regularly for the under-23s does not guarantee first-team success.
However, Wilson is the real deal and next season could see him make the breakthrough he has seemed destined for since he first started making headlines.
