Duncan Castles has claimed on the Transfer Window podcast that FC Porto want to sign Harry Wilson from Liverpool in the summer transfer window.
The well-known and well-respected journalist has reported that Porto manager Sergio Conceicao is the one who is driving the club’s interest in Wilson.
Castles said about Wilson on the Transfer Window podcast: “What I’m hearing, what I’m told, is that there’s now interest from FC Porto in that player and that interest is driven by Sergio Conceicao, the coach who led them to the title last season and provided significant success in the Champions League.”
What is Harry Wilson’s situation?
Wilson has been at Liverpool since 2005, but the Wales international has not established himself as a regular in the first team.
The 24-year-old spent the 2020-21 campaign on loan at Cardiff City in the Championship.
It is hard to see Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp include the winger in his first-team squad next season.

Leaving Liverpool for Porto
Porto are a massive club who regularly challenge for the Portuguese title and play in Europe.
Conceicao is a serial winner, both as a player and as a manager.
The 46-year-old former Portugal international winger won league titles with Porto and Lazio as a player.
The Portuguese led Porto to the league title in Portugal in 2018 and 2020.

If there is no future for Wilson at Liverpool, a move away would make sense.
Porto manager Conceicao wants the winger, which means that he plans to make use of him on a regular basis in the team.
Former Bournemouth manager Jason Tindall described Wilson as a “very, very dangerous” player in The Daily Echo in October 2020.
