Liverpool winger Harry Wilson has told Wales Online that he will decide his future after Euro 2020 amid claims Leeds United are backing away.
Wilson returned to Liverpool last summer after a loan spell with Bournemouth, but quickly realised he wouldn’t be playing first-team football.
The wide man dropped back into the Championship with Cardiff City, securing his Euro 2020 spot with Wales – but a big decision is on the horizon.
How did Wilson fare last season?
Wilson was very effective in the second tier, racking up seven goals and 11 assists in 37 appearances for the Bluebirds.
It’s pretty clear that Wilson is too good for the Championship, and he shouldn’t really be playing in that league next season after shining so much last term.
Leeds United’s interest in Wilson
Leeds are linked with Wilson every summer, but The Athletic claimed last week that the Whites are backing away from him because of a £17million demand from Liverpool.
Victor Orta is in the market for a winger, but seemingly won’t be signing Wilson unless his asking price comes down this summer.

Wilson comments on his Liverpool future
The 24-year-old has now admitted that he knew he wasn’t going to play regularly for Liverpool, so just had to get out on loan and get himself ready for Euro 2020.
Wilson added that he will sort out his Liverpool future after the tournament is over, though don’t expect to see him in a Leeds shirt any time soon.
“Going into the season, I had the Euros in my head. I knew that was coming at the end of the season. I knew I had to be somewhere where I was going to play regular football, make sure I had the minutes that I wanted. I knew being at Liverpool I wasn’t going to get that,” said Wilson. “When the chance to go on loan came around, I knew I had to take it. To play for Cardiff, a Welsh team, was a great honour for me. This season, there were a lot of ups and downs. I think we started fairly well. We had a bit of a sticky spell in the middle, a change of manager, but then the last 12 or 13 games I feel I did well. I played regularly and scored a few towards the end.”
“I was happy with the way the season finished and the minutes I got throughout. Once the competition has finished that’s when I’ll think about what’s happening at club level,” he added.
