Will West Ham United get relegated to the Championship at the end of the season?

West Ham United are not having a good season. What was supposed to be a fight for a finish in the top six of the Premier League has turned out to be a battle against relegation.

The Hammers recently went through a bad spell that saw them plummet towards the bottom three. The London outfit lost five Premier League games in a row, which included defeats to Bournemouth, Leicester City and Hull City.

Slaven Bilic’s side returned to winning ways at the weekend. West Ham got the better of relegation candidates Swansea City 1-0 at the London Stadium in the Premier League last Saturday.

West Ham are now 14th in the league table with 36 points from 32 matches, as many as eight points above the relegation zone.

Harry Redknapp believes that the Hammers are safe and will not go down to the Championship at the end of the season.

“Yeah, I think West Ham will be fine,” said the former West Ham manager on the Live Premier League Tonight show on BT Sport 1 last Saturday evening (broadcast from 7:45pm, April 8, 2017) when asked about the Hammers’ survival chances.

“All of those bottom teams getting eight points, you wouldn’t want to bet on that, would you?”

West Ham will return to action on Saturday afternoon when they take on Sunderland away from home at the Stadium of Light in the Premier League.
