Tottenham Hotspur are still in contention of winning the Champions League and Premier League this season.

Harry Redknapp has admitted that he ‘wouldn’t be surprised if Tottenham won the Champions League this season because there isn’t a standout team in Europe.
At the start of the season, Spurs potentially lifting Europe’s biggest prize would have seemed unthinkable from their perspective considering their situation with lack of transfers and moving into a new stadium.
But despite that, Mauricio Pochettino’s side did record a deserved 3-0 win over Bourissa Dortmund in the first leg of their round of 16 Champions League clash in midweek.
Added with that, they did it without a number of their key players, most notably striker Harry Kane & attacking midfielder Dele Alli.
Nonetheless, former Premier League manager Redknapp explained why Pochettino’s side ‘have a chance’ of lifting a European Cup at the end of the campaign.
“The Champions League is wide open,” Redknapp told the Alan Brazil Breakfast show on talkSPORT on 14/02/2019. “I don’t think there is one team outside of the British teams who you would look at [they are certain favourites].
“Normally, you would have a Barcelona or Real Madrid. This year is wide open. Juventus have a chance. It could be one of seven or eight teams you would look at. You wouldn’t be surprised if they won it at Tottenham. They have a chance.”

During the recent winter and summer transfer window, Tottenham opted against signing a player which has made their current situation even more incredible.
While teams need big investments to lift trophies, i.e Manchester City, Spurs are proving their worth both in England’s top flight and in Europe in a world-class manner.
They currently hold a three-goal lead against Dortmund, but they will still be wary that the attack-minded Bundesliga outfit can still make a comeback in the return leg.
Spanish giants Real Madrid are the current holders of the competition, while Pep Guardiola will be looking to make his mark in the competition with Manchester City and a Cristiano Ronaldo-led Juventus will be hoping to be the ones being crowned champions of Europe at the end of the campaign.
