Tottenham Hotspur look poised to re-sign Gareth Bale on loan.

The Real Madrid attacker was filmed arriving at Spurs’ training ground on Friday afternoon as his vehicle passed through a swarm of excited supporters.

There was no announcement from Tottenham last night but it looks only a matter of time before they confirm his return to North London, having joined the Spanish giants for a world-record fee of £85 million back in 2013.

Bale produced his best form for the Lilywhites under Harry Redknapp, who transformed him from a relatively average left-back to one of the world’s finest wide players.

But Redknapp doesn’t want the reunions to end there, calling on Tottenham to also re-sign Luka Modric from the Bernabeu club.

The Croatia international joined Real a year before Bale and remains a big player for them, having won four Champions League titles during his eight-year spell in Madrid.

Along with Son Heung-min and Harry Kane, Bale could make Tottenham a frightening team as far as a front-three goes, but Redknapp has told Perform, via Goal, that they also need somebody like Modric in midfield to ‘supply the bullets’.

He said: “I’d go and see if I could get Luka Modric back. That would be a great coup. Luka is still a fantastic player. That would be amazing. I still feel they need somebody there; they’ve got the forward players, but they need somebody to supply the bullets.”

Is this going to happen? In a word, no.

As talented as 35-year-old Modric is, he’s on £192,000 per week at Real [Sportekz] and Tottenham are already making an exception with regards to their wage structure to sign Bale.

Plus, Jose Mourinho already has the like of Dele Alli – who is linked with a move away – and Giovani Lo Celso to supply Tottenham’s star-studded attacking trio, so Modric doesn’t make much sense.
