Tottenham have been linked with a sensational move to re-sign Gareth Bale from Real Madrid.

Former Tottenham Hotspur manager Harry Redknapp has told TalkSPORT that he wants to see Real Madrid superstar Gareth Bale return to north London this summer.
The 28-year-old has fallen down the pecking order at Real Madrid under Zinedine Zidane, and was even left on the bench as an unused substitute in Wednesday night’s Champions League semi-final against Bayern Munich.
Nonetheless, the Wales international has still scored 14 goals and laid on another eight in 33 games this season, taking his overall Real tally to 81 goals in 183 games from the wing.

Spanish outlet Diario Gol claim Bale is looking to leave Real and a return to Spurs is his top target. Redknapp, who worked with Bale for four years as Spurs manager, wants the Wales ace to return to north London.
“Gareth would be a great signing for Tottenham, it would be fantastic,” Redknapp said. “Going back to Tottenham – if he comes back [to the Premier League] he would only go to a top-six club, but it would be nice to see him go back to Spurs.
“I think he’ll come home, he’s a homeboy. I remember giving him four or five days off at Tottenham, we didn’t have a game for two weeks or something, and he went back to wales to see his mum.”

During his six-year spell at Spurs, Bale had an impressive record of more than one goal every four games, but his true talent came to light in his final season under Andre Villas-Boas.
He scored 26 goals and provided 15 assists in 44 games, and that kind of return could be just the kind of goalscoring prowess that Spurs need to take them from title rivals to Premier League champions.
Bale, who has a contract at the Santiago Bernabeu until the summer of 2022, earns £350,000 a week according to the Telegraph and a move for the attacker would see chairman Daniel Levy have to completely destroy his stronghold on the Spurs coffers.
