Former West Ham United manager Harry Redknapp has urged Slaven Bilic to stick with his new system after the win over Crystal Palace, speaking to BT Sport.

The Hammers took on Palace at Selhurst Park on Saturday evening looking to secure their second win of the campaign.

They managed to do just that as a goal from Manuel Lanzini saw them secure a 1-0 win and some much-needed points.

The game saw Bilic change employ a change in tactics, switching his team to a three-man defence and employing Aaron Cresswell and Michail Antonio as wing-backs.

It proved to be a smart decision as the former produced a superb cross to set up Manuel Lanzini for the winning goal.

Redknapp was impressed by the switch and has urged Bilic to stick by it.

“It was a great result and the new system worked a treat,” he told BT Sport.

“Slaven changed it a gamble and played with three at the back but I thought the shape of the team suited them absolutely perfectly. I hope he sticks with that system because it fits perfectly with the players they’ve got.”

The win was certainly a much-needed one for West Ham given their disastrous start to the campaign before it.

The win means they have now moved out of the relegation zone and up into 15ht place in the table with seven points from their first eight games.

They will be hoping to make it back-to-back to wins next weekend when they take on fellow strugglers Sunderland.

After this display, it would be surprising to see Bilic change the system that secured his team all three points in this game.
