Harry Redknapp has tipped Mark Noble to ‘one day’ become West Ham United manager as he urged the club to promote from within in the near future.

It remains to be seen if midfielder Noble has aspirations to move into coaching, but there is no doubt that he is very much liked in East London.

The 31-year-old has come through the ranks and represented the club during their highs in the Premier League and their lows when they were in the second tier of English football.

Speaking to the Alan Brazil Sports Breakfast Show on talkSPORT (02/04/2019 at 09:15 am), Redknapp explained why he would like someone like Noble to be given a managerial opportunity at the club.

“I think one day down the line,” Redknapp told talkSPORT. “I think he’s a right sensible lad. He’s been an excellent captain. He looks like a good lad in the dressing room and a leader.

“Why not? Why not promote from within if you’ve got somebody like that in the future. Why have you got to go and get another foreign manager? He knows the game inside out and knows the club. He looks a great guy. Why shouldn’t you groom him to eventually become the manager?”

At this moment in time, Manuel Pellegrini is walking the touchlines at the London Stadium and he will be hoping to guide the club to a top-ten finish this season.

If they are to do that, and even possibly finish seventh, then Noble will play a key part in the middle of the park with his calmness and leadership qualities.

Over the course of this season, he has played 25 league matches for his boyhood club, scoring three goals and supplying the same amount of clean sheets [transfermarkt].

During his career with the Hammers, Noble needs to make another 39 appearances to reach 500 games in all competitions for the Irons and if he continues in his ways then he will reach that milestone next season.
