According to 90Min, Tottenham Hotspur are amongst the clubs interested in Liverpool defender Joe Gomez.
The defender is barely getting a game at Anfield this season, and understandably, his lack of gametime has led to plenty of speculation about his future.
Tottenham are reportedly very keen to bolster their defence in the coming months under Antonio Conte, and Gomez is supposedly a player they’re keen on.
Interestingly, Conte isn’t the only man to have sat in the Spurs dugout have taken a shine to Gomez. Harry Redknapp was very complimentary of the centre-back when he was coming through as a youngster at Charlton.
What’s been said?
Redknapp was full of praise for Gomez when speaking to The Telegraph in 2015.
“The left-back (Gomez) is a good young player who can’t kick with his left foot but he is playing at left-back. He’s a fantastic talent, strong, quick. But what will he give you on the left? He is on the wrong side,” Redknapp said.

Lived up to the hype
As it turns out, Redknapp was absolutely right about Gomez. He’s now no longer a left-back and he’s lived up to the hype that surrounded him as a teenager.
Gomez is now a Premier League-winning, England international centre-half, and while he can’t get back into the Liverpool side at the moment, he would be a real asset for Tottenham.
Redknapp has already given his seal of approval years ago, and now it’s up to Conte and Fabio Paratici to get Gomez to north London.
