Former West Ham United boss Harry Redknapp has been speaking about Slaven Bilic’s future.

A woeful start to the season and life at their new 60,000 Olympic Stadium home has left morale on the pitch and in the stands at a new low.
Fighting amongst fans and safety fears at the ground as well as a perceived lack of the famous intimidating Hammers atmosphere from Upton Park has seen the stadium switch cited by many as a reason for the club’s contrast in fortunes compared to their fantastic campaign last term.
Five defeats from the first seven Premier League games is the club’s worst ever start to a season and Bilic’s side were also unceremoniously dumped out of Europe in qualifying too.

It is a far cry from West Ham’s superb final season at Upton Park and so far this term the former Croatia boss has failed to come up with the answers to turn things around.
And Redknapp, who spent 18 years with the Hammers as a player, assistant manager and manager has told talkSPORT how he feels watching the man he first signed for the East Londoners struggling, and predicted his future.

“He’s a fun character, he’s a great lad, absolutely brilliant,” Redknapp told talkSPORT.
“I signed him, he came in on trial and first morning after an hour he was absolutely brilliant and we took him and I’ve got a great relationship with Slaven.

“It hurts me when I see him stood there at the moment and suffering.
“When things aren’t going for you it’s very difficult to smile though your heart is aching.
“He’ll be ok though Slaven, he’ll turn it around for sure.”
