Real Madrid have been linked with making a £177 million move for Tottenham Hotspur striker Harry Kane.

Harry Kane of Tottenham celebrates scoring to make it 1-0 during the pre-season match between Tottenham Hotspur and Juventus at Wembley Stadium on August 5, 2017 in London, England.

Harry Redknapp has told The Alan Brazil Sports Breakfast on talkSPORT (broadcast on 5th October 2017; 7:55 am) that he cannot see Harry Kane trying to force his way out of Tottenham anytime soon, but warned Spurs chairman Daniel Levy that he will still need to make him feel valued.

Kane has made a sensational start to the season, scoring 13 goals for club and country and 11 in his last six for Tottenham, and that form has reportedly brought him onto Real Madrid’s radar.

Don Balon reports that Los Blancos are considering making a £177 million bid for the 24-year-old.

But Redknapp has suggested that Spurs fans should not worry about whether they may lose their talisman during the coming years – but added that the onus is also on the Tottenham hierarchy to ensure that he feels that he has no reason to seek a fresh challenge.

“I think if he’s happy, he wouldn’t be a boy thinking, ‘I want £200,000-£300,000 a week.’ I think he’s happy there and they love him at Spurs, rightly so,” he told The Alan Brazil Sports Breakfast on talkSPORT (broadcast on 5th October 2017).

“He’ll end up their captain I’m sure, it’s a great club to be at for him as well. I don’t see Harry being a boy who’s going to be knocking on the door in the next year or two and wanting to leave Tottenham.

“I think Daniel’s got to look after him. I’m sure he will and make sure that his contract is up there with what a player of his stature deserves. But I wouldn’t see him wanting to bang the door down wanting to get out of Tottenham in a hurry.”

With Real Madrid reportedly circling, it would surely be a fantastic statement from Tottenham if they were able to hold onto Kane during the next five years when he would, presumably, be at the peak of his powers.

Keeping players like Kane would surely make Spurs a much more attractive option to potential targets, and thus, they may be able to build a side that is good enough to give the striker yet another reason to want to stick around.
