Harry Redknapp revealed on the Drive show on talkSPORT on Monday afternoon (broadcast from 4pm, September 26, 2016) what he told Danny Rose about his best position when they worked together at Tottenham Hotspur.

Redknapp was the manager of Tottenham from 2008 until 2012, while Rose has been on the books of the North London outfit since 2007.

The former West Ham United manager has revealed that he told Rose that he will never play as a winger for the England national football team.

The Englishman, though, has made it clear that he always knew that the 26-year-old was going to be a top player.

“I always felt Danny would be an England left-back,” said Redknapp on the Drive show on talkSPORT on Monday afternoon (broadcast from 4pm, September 26, 2016). “I used to say to him you will never play for England on the left wing.”

“I never thought he would be good enough to be a left-winger, but at left-back I thought he was fantastic,” added Redknapp. “I knew he was always going to be a top player.”

Rose has established himself as one of the most important players for Tottenham and is one of the best left-backs in the Premier League.

The former Leeds United prospect has developed quite well under Spurs manager Mauricio Pochettino.

The England international is very good while going on the attack and created as many as 24 chances in 24 Premier League matches last season.

Spurs are second in the Premier League table at the moment with 14 points from six matches, four points behind leaders Manchester City.
