Harry Redknapp has claimed that Michail Antonio looks ‘tired’ for West Ham, as he told talkSPORT on Wednesday morning.

The former Hammer thinks the Champions League-chasing outfit will dip into the transfer market in January and bring in ‘another striker’.

Even when Antonio was firing in the goals for West Ham, there was talk about David Moyes needing more depth up front to help out his £7 million man (Sky Sports).

The Scotsman can use the likes of Jarrod Bowen as forward options, but there isn’t an out-and-out option for him to pick from.

Redknapp touched upon West Ham, their forward options and Antonio’s current situation.

“They are a little bit short up front,” said Redknapp. “Antonio, he has to do it every week and if he gets an injury.

“He looked a bit jaded and a bit tired the other week. They have no-one who they can chop around. Bowen can play through the middle.

“But I think they may look to get another striker perhaps in the window.”

There’s no doubt that Antonio and West Ham have hit a bit of a brick wall of late and they need picking up once more.

Their recent home clash against Norwich City was postponed because of COVID issues in the oppositions camp.

That might prove to be beneficial to the east London club and their quarter-final tie against Tottenham in the League Cup tonight.

There’s no doubt that this game won’t be short of aggression, high-intense and all-action football because both teams will hate getting knocked out by either one.
