Harry Redknapp says it’s ‘definitely not happening’ when he was asked if Daniel Levy has approached him to become Tottenham Hotspur’s next manager, as he told talkSPORT Breakfast (21/03/23).

There is talk on Tuesday morning that Antonio Conte is facing the sack at Spurs, after his outburst over the weekend following his side’s 3-3 draw at Southampton.

The Champions League-chasing side let a 3-1 lead slip at St Mary’s and, after the game, Conte went on a verbal rant at Tottenham’s inability to win trophies and their weak mentality.

Even now, that outburst from the former Inter Milan and Juventus manager is making headlines, with suggestions that Ryan Mason, who is part of his backroom staff, will replace him in the dugout until the end of the season.

If that happens, then it will be a case of Deja vu because this isn’t the first time that Levy has sacked a trophy-laden coach and then replaced him with Mason.

Nonetheless, when Arsenal legend Ray Parlour asked Harry Redknapp about the Tottenham manager’s job, the 76-year-old issued the following response.

“If someone asked you, I think it would be hard to say ‘no’, I would be truthful,” said Redknapp about getting back into management after Roy Hodgson returned to Crystal Palace.

Ray Parlour then asks: “I was going to say, has Daniel Levy phoned you yet?”

Redknapp responded with laughter: “No, that’s definitely not happening.”

NOTHING HAS CHANGED

Back in 2008, Redknapp took to the White Hart Lane hot seat and spent four years in Tottenham colours, including famous Champions League nights against Inter Milan.

From those days to the present day, not much has changed, in terms of the mindset of Spurs and how they are being run from the top.

Whilst Conte needs to take responsibility for his tactics, getting booted out of the FA Cup and inability to adapt, there was a serious element of truth in what he was saying.
