Jordon Ibe’s performance for Liverpool since his return from Derby County has impressed former Tottenham Hotspur and QPR boss Harry Redknapp.

Former Tottenham Hotspur and Queens Park Rangers manager Harry Redknapp has been singing the praises of Liverpool winger Jordon Ibe on talkSPORT.

The 19-year-old has been a revelation this season and has established himself as first-team regular over the past few weeks.

Ibe was superb during his loan spell at Derby County, scoring five goals and creating 13 chances in 20 Championship appearances, while having a pass accuracy of 87% and a shot accuracy of 48%.

The youngster was recalled by Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers in January and went on to make five appearances in the Premier League before suffering a knee injury.

Redknapp seems to have been impressed with Ibe and told talkSPORT: “Things weren’t going well and Brendan has gone to three at the back with the wing-backs and it has worked a treat for them.

“And the kid from Wycombe Wanderers, Jordon Ibe, what a player he has been. He looks a fantastic prospect.”

Ibe is a truly talented young player and is a great example of how a youngster’s skills can be developed on loan spells at Championship clubs.

The Liverpool winger, who has been deployed as a right wing-back by Rodgers, is far from the finished article, but he has shown this season the quality he has.

Just like Raheem Sterling who came to the fore last season, Ibe could go on to make a huge impact for Liverpool once he recovers from his knee injury.
