Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Harry Winks made his first Premier League start against West Ham United yesterday.
Harry Redknapp has told BT Sport, during their live coverage of Tottenham Hotspur’s match against West Ham United yesterday, that he loves Harry Winks.
Winks was handed his first Premier League start for Spurs against the Hammers, and the 20-year-old caught the eye.
Winks scored Tottenham’s first goal of the match, and looked at home in England’s top flight.
And Redknapp said: “I love him, he looks a smashing lad too.”
Winks’ goal got Tottenham level in their match against West Ham, after they fell behind in the first half, but Mauricio Pochettino’s side conceded again after.
West Ham took the lead for a second time when Manuel Lanzini scored from the penalty spot.
However, Spurs mounted a late comeback to claim the three points.
Harry Kane first scored from close range, before a last minute penalty ensured that Spurs got the win, which moved them to within three points of league leaders Liverpool.
Tottenham are now unbeaten in their last 12 Premier League matches, but Redknapp feels that they were lucky to get past Slaven Bilic’s men.
“Tottenham were nowhere at their best,” the former Spurs boss added. “West Ham came here and played ever so well. With five minutes to go you couldn’t see any way that West Ham wouldn’t win the game.
“It was the most ineffective I’ve seen Tottenham. They were nowhere near their best. Today, they had a bit of luck with them.”
