Tottenham Hotspur are believed to have made Everton midfielder Ross Barkley one of their top targets this summer.

Harry Redknapp has told The Sun that he believes Tottenham Hotspur are interested in signing Everton’s Ross Barkley this summer… and the England international would be a good addition for Mauricio Pochettino’s side.

Ronald Koeman has confirmed that Barkley will be leaving Everton this summer, and Spurs look his most likely buyers.

The Daily Mail suggest that there is difficulties with the transfer, with Barkley’s wages proving problematic for Tottenham.

However, Redknapp feels that if Spurs could bring the 23-year-old to North London he would be a good addition to their squad.

“I believe they are interested in Barkley and I would take him,” Redknapp said.

“Regardless of signings, I think Spurs were the best team last year and they could be again.”

Tottenham are the only team in the Premier League that have not added to their squad this summer.

Spurs have seen all of their title rivals strengthen, but they are yet to react to the transfer business going on around them.

Tottenham are believed to be still looking to their old policy of bringing in players with potential to improve, and Barkley would fit that category.
