Liverpool are eight points ahead of Manchester City in the Premier League table.

Harry Redknapp has claimed that Liverpool are as good as Premier League champions already.

Jurgen Klopp’s side are huge favourites to win the title this season after establishing an eight-point lead over defending champs Manchester City just before the international break.

Pep Guardiola’s lost 2-0 at home to Wolves in one of the shock result of the season so far, after Liverpool scored a last-minute penalty to beat Leicester City the day before.

The Anfield giants and reigning Champions League winners haven’t won a top-flight title since 1990, and former Tottenham boss Harry Redknapp is certain that will come to an end come May.

He told The Daily Mail: “Liverpool. Give them the trophy now. Absolutely, I’m so sure they will win it now. They are eight points clear and playing well.”

Is Redknapp right? It’s difficult to ever write off Man City but, on current form, Liverpool will take some beating.

This is a team that lost once in the Premier League last term. This year they’re arguably a stronger side and yet Guardiola will need Klopp’s charges to lose at least twice in all probability, whilst all the time ensuring that the Sky Blues are rampant each and every week.

It’s such a big ask.
