Aston Villa are struggling in the Championship at the moment.
Aston Villa’s Jordan Ayew shoots at goal
Former Tottenham Hotspur and West Ham United manager Harry Redknapp said on the Drive show on talkSPORT on Monday afternoon (broadcast from 4pm, October 3, 2016) that Aston Villa have too many forwards.
The former Queens Park Rangers boss suggested that the Championship club are struggling to balance their team because of that.
“They have got too many forwards, I think, looking at it, it seems to me they can’t find a balance to their team,” said Redknapp on the Drive show on talkSPORT on Monday afternoon (broadcast from 4pm, October 3, 2016).
“They have got too many strikers, they are trying to get four of them in the team somehow (for the) two positions that are available.”
Rudy Gestede of Aston Villa heads at goal
Redknapp’s observation is spot-on: Villa do have a number of forwards.
Jordan Ayew, Rudy Gestede, Jonathan Kodjia and Ross McCormack are the main strikers for the Villans at the moment.
Gabriel Agbonlahor is also a striker, but the 29-year-old has yet to feature in a Championship game this season.

Libor Kozak is a striker as well, but the 27-year-old Czech Republic international has been able to play just twice in the league so far this campaign.
Rushian Hepburn-Murphy is a talented and promising young striker who is just 18 years of age.
Having so many options in attack is not bad, but the problem is how to keep all of them happy and to build a strong on-pitch relationship among them.
