Harry Redknapp feels that Tottenham Hotspur need to add another winger to their squad.
Harry Redknapp has told the Jim White Show, which was broadcast on TalkSPORT on 28th November, that Tottenham Hotspur’s problem in the transfer market is that it is so difficult to improve on their first-team squad.
The signings which Spurs made last summer, with the exception of Victor Wanyama, have all come under criticism.
However, Redknapp insists that Mauricio Pochettino’s task of signing players for Spurs is a very difficult one, as there are not many players out there who could improve on his current options.
Redknapp feels that Tottenham’s back five is already one of the best in the Premier League, and he also believes Harry Kane is a top striker.
Indeed, the only position that Redknapp feels Spurs could do with adding more quality to is out wide.
He said: “When you’re bringing players in Tottenham, it’s difficult to improve the players. You won’t improve the goalkeeper or the back four, or even Harry Kane.
“The one position they needed was that they needed wide-players, two wingers and someone with a bit of pace. All their pace comes from Rose and Walker.
“I think they have improved. They’ve been unfortunate with injuries. But how do you improve? I think it’s a fantastic team.”
Tottenham have been facing criticism recently, after a poor run of form has seen them slide down the Premier League table.
Spurs have won just once in their last 10 matches in all competitions – and they are now four points away from the Champions League qualification spaces.
Tottenham are next in action at the weekend, when they take on struggling Swansea City at White Hart Lane.
