Arsenal’s season is in tatters following a run of horrendous results in all competitions.
Harry Redknapp
Former Spurs boss Harry Redknapp urged Arsenal to sign Chelsea centre-back John Terry this summer, during an interview with talkSPORT, suggesting that he would play a big part in sorting out the problems currently present at the Emirates.
The Gunners’ season has spiralled out of control in recent weeks, with five losses from their last seven outings in all competitions, including a pair of 5-1 defeats in the Champions League against Bayern Munich.
And the usual questions have been asked regarding Arsene Wenger’s player recruitment, with so many of the current Arsenal players lacking the kind of character needed to mount a sustained challenge on all fronts.
Redknapp believes there is an easy way to solve those issues, however, explaining to talkSPORT why the Frenchman should make a move for Chelsea legend John Terry:
Chelsea’s John Terry
“If I was the manager of Arsenal, I would take John Terry tomorrow. He would absolutely improve that side. That’s what they’re short of, they’re short of a John Terry – they’ve got no leaders. I think someone like John would sort a few of them out and get them at it. He’d be worth his weight in gold around the place. There are not many players like him around anymore.”
The 36-year-old’s contract with the Blues expires in the summer, and it is looking ever more likely that he will leave the club at the end of the season, after spending 20 glorious years at Stamford Bridge.
With Wenger being notorious for his stubbornness, however, the very fact the Harry Redknapp has suggested a particular signing that he should make should rule out any possibility of Terry moving to the Emirates.
