Tottenham had a shocking start to their Premier League campaign, but it was still a surprise to see Mauricio Pochettino face the sack after everything he did for the club.
Jose Mourinho has not quite taken the league by storm since his arrival. However, Spurs have moved back into the top half of the league table, and are now seven points behind fourth-placed Chelsea.
With just nine games left in the league this season, it will be difficult for Tottenham to make it into the top four, but Mourinho will only be judged over his performances next season.
The Spurs boss will have a lot to consider this summer ahead of his first full season in charge at the club. But former Tottenham manager Harry Redknapp feels that Mourinho only needs one or two new signings to compete for the league title.
He told TalkSport: “Dele Alli, I love him, I think he’s top drawer. Him and Harry Kane up front, they’re full of quality, aren’t they? Son is an amazing player.
“So you’d expect them to push on, the stadium is unbelievable and the training ground is fantastic, so it’s all in place. They just need one or two good acquisitions to the team. Push the boat out, it’s not like they’re short of money.

“Joe Lewis is one of the richest men in the world and I’m sure that, if he wants to have a crack at it, then there’s no reason why they shouldn’t bring one or two top players in and try for the Premier League title.”
Tottenham certainly have a very good squad yet they are a long way behind the likes of Manchester City and Liverpool, who will be the favourites for the title again next season.
However, Mourinho has worked wonders in the league before and, if he can convince Daniel Levy to get him the right players this summer, Spurs could have a real go at achieving a top-four finish, if not win the league next season.
