Former Spurs manager Harry Redknapp has said on talkSPORT (9:12am, March 18, 2022) that he told Frank Lampard that Dele Alli would be a good signing for Everton from Antonio Conte’s Tottenham Hotspur.
The former Tottenham and West Ham manager has been shocked by the fall from grace of Alli.
The England international midfielder moved to Everton from Premier League rivals Tottenham in the January transfer window.
Redknapp has disclosed that when Alli was about to sign for the Toffees, he told Everton manager Lampard that the 25-year-old former MK Dons midfielder would be a good addition to the Toffees’s team.
The Englishman said: “What has happened to Dele Alli?
Redknapp added: “When Frank took him, I texted Frank, and he was already down the road.
“I said, ‘Listen, Dele Alli, I think if he get him going, he is some player.’ I stuck up for him.”

Dele Alli struggling at Everton after Spurs exit
In our opinion, Alli has proven to be a disappointing signing for Everton so far.
The 25-year-old had been struggling at Tottenham for a while, and the hope was that the midfielder would flourish under Lampard at Everton.
After all, the Toffees manager is one of the greatest midfielders of all time, and he could get the best out of Alli.
However, things have not turned out that way.
The 25-year-old has made six substitute appearances in the Premier League for Everton.
