Harry Redknapp shared on Sky Sports News (10:14pm, October 5, 2020) what he has been told about new Everton summer signing Robin Olsen.

The former Tottenham Hotspur and West Ham United manager stated that he has been told that Olsen is a very good goalkeeper.

As reported by Sky Sports, Everton signed the 30-year-old Sweden international on a season-long loan deal from Italian club AS Roma on transfer deadline day on Monday.

Redknapp said on Sky Sports News (10:14pm, October 5, 2020): “They tell me, a friend of mine who is a real good judge, he said Olsen is a top goalkeeper from Roma. He said he would be a great signing for Everton.”

Good signing for Everton?

Olsen is a very good goalkeeper with international pedigree, having been part of the Sweden squad that reached the quarter-finals of the 2018 World Cup, as reported by Sky Sports.

Sky Sports have also reported that the Swede joined Roma in the summer of 2018 as a replacement for Allison, who had earlier moved to Liverpool.

Jordan Pickford is a good goalkeeper, but the England international does make mistakes from time to time and needs strong competition.

Olsen will provide just that, and the Sweden international could even become the first choice between the posts in the coming weeks and months.

Everton have made a strong start to the season and are challenging for the Champions League places in the Premier League table.
