Harry Redknapp has delivered his verdict on West Ham after a poor start to the season.
Harry Redknapp has insisted that West Ham have a good chance to get their first points on the board in the Premier League when they face Everton after the international break.
The Hammers have gone into the internationals stranded at the foot of the league table, as Manuel Pellegrini’s reign has commenced with four straight defeats.
They travel to Everton in their next fixture, who have one win and three draws so far in the league this campaign
Ex-West Ham manager Redknapp is backing his former side to bounce back from a poor start and is positive going into the next match.
Everton are also under new management in the shape of Marco Silva, who is still trying to implement his free-flowing attacking style at Goodison Park.
“The fans had great expectations they would have a team that would be up there just off the top-six, but so far they have not delivered,” Redknapp has told talkSPORT.
“It’s been a horrendous start for West Ham, but they can still do it. They need to pick up some results quickly, and I think they’ve got a chance at Everton.
“I saw Everton the other week at Bournemouth and I couldn’t say I was that impressed, so it’s a chance for West Ham.
“They need to turn in a performance quickly and the one at Everton is a big game, for sure.”
West Ham’s fixture list doesn’t appear to be getting any easier and many are already chalking up Everton as a must-win contest.
They face Chelsea, Manchester Untied and Tottenham in three of their next five league matches, which is why they will be keen to steer away from the bottom of the table.
Everton are very much still a working progress like West Ham, but it’s the former who have looked brighter in the early stages of the season.
