Harry Redknapp has admitted that he would support Arsenal in a European final against a foreign team after David Seaman stated he would do the same with Tottenham.

Spurs recently progressed through to the quarter-finals of the Champions League and Seaman admitted that he would back them if they got to a final despite his connection with their North London rivals.

During his career, Redknapp has managed a number of London clubs, including Spurs, Queens Park Rangers and West Ham.

Speaking to the Alan Brazil Sports Breakfast Show on talkSPORT (06/03/2019 at 8:20 am), Redknapp honestly stated that he would like to see an English team win a European cup, regardless of who they are. It won’t be a surprise if his comments annoy Tottenham fans.

“Would I? Yes, I would,” Redknapp told talkSPORT. “I’d like to see an English team win it. Dave [Seaman] was an Arsenal legend. I managed different clubs, so you move around, don’t you?!

“Yes, I have feelings for all the clubs I was at, yes I’d love to see Tottenham do it, but I’d support any English team that gets there. I want us to go and win the Champions League. It’s about time we won it.”

Mauricio Pochettino’s side are in the last eight of the Champions League after they thumped Dortmund 4-0 on aggregate, including beating them 1-0 in Germany on Tuesday night.

That result and performance from the London outfit was backed up by Manchester United, who staged one of the most remarkable comebacks against Paris-Saint Germain on Wednesday.

Despite being 2-0 down from the first-leg, without a number of their star players, United scored three goals in France, including a stoppage-time penalty to seal their place in the next round.

Liverpool and Manchester City are still in Europe, with Arsenal competing in the Europa League as there is a huge chance an English team can walk away with the big prize at the end of the season.
