Manchester United defender Harry Maguire has named the player in training that consistently surprises him the most, for all the right reasons.
As Erik ten Hag’s Manchester United prepare for the FA Cup final showdown against Pep Guardiola’s Manchester City, change is afoot at Old Trafford.
The future of the Dutch manager is certainly unclear after the Red Devils finished in eighth place in the Premier League and were knocked out of the UEFA Champions League, after finishing bottom of a group that contained FC Copenhagen and Galatasaray.
As for Harry Maguire, the English defender has had a solid season at Old Trafford and has been consistently fit and available for United, but his future at the club also remains unclear.

Maguire names best trainer
Speaking to talkSPORT, the English defender, who was recently named in Gareth Southgate’s squad for the upcoming European Championships, has named the player that consistently trains well for the Red Devils.
“I think I’d always go with Scott McTominay,” Maguire said. “It’s probably not surprising people, but he trains brilliantly and he covers big distances. He works his socks off and he’s always in the gym doing extra (sessions), so I’ll go with Scotty.”
The hard work in training is seemingly working for the Scottish midfielder as he has 10 goals and three assists in all competitions for the Red Devils with only Bruno Fernandes and Rasmus Hojlund netting more goals than the 27-year-old.
Things could have been different for the midfielder as it looked like Scott McTominay would be on his way out of Old Trafford in the summer with West Ham United making an offer, as per the Manchester Evening News. The Scotsman stayed at the club and has had a brilliant season.
McTominay has to stay at Old Trafford
Throughout his career at Old Trafford, the question around McTominay has been whether he is good enough to be a starting midfielder at Old Trafford in a title winning United side.
However, keeping a player, who has scored a countless number of important goals for United this campaign, would be the wise decision and having players around the team who set the standard in training is vital.
He may not get the game time that he is wanting next season if the Red Devils do target a new midfielder but keeping around that kind of player will be vital for the team going into the new campaign, potentially under a new manager.
