Alisson made a mistake during Liverpool’s 2-1 win over Leicester City.

Harry Kewell has defended Liverpool goalkeeper Alisson on Sky Sports after the Brazilian summer signing made a calamitous error during the Reds’ 2-1 win over Leicester City.
Alisson, 25, looked to turn Leicester striker Kelechi Iheanacho inside his own penalty area when in possession, but was read by the Nigerian forward who tackled the £66.7million goalkeeper.
Former Manchester City striker Iheanacho then squared to Rachid Ghezzal, who scored his first goal for Leicester at Alisson’s expense – which has since seen plenty of pundits criticise the former AS Roma goalkeeper.
Ex-Liverpool winger Harry Kewell, who has recently taken over at Notts County, defended Liverpool’s summer signing and believes he will learn from the mistake.
“The problem that Liverpool had last year was who was going to be the goalkeeper but Alisson has done excellent,” Kewell said.
“He has made a mistake, but it’s a team game and the boys stuck by him and got him through it and I’m sure he’s smart enough not to make that mistake again.”

Liverpool still managed to maintain their perfect start to the Premier League season with their fourth win in four, thanks to goals from Sadio Mane and Roberto Firmino against Claude Puel’s side.
They remain at the top of the Premier League tree, with only Chelsea and Watford so far matching Jurgen Klopp’s side in terms of points. Alisson is expected to retain his place next time out against Tottenham on September 15.
