Paul Merson has written on SportsKeeda that Tottenham Hotspur striker Harry Kane will not play all the time at Manchester City.
The former Arsenal star believes that Kane could beat Newcastle United legend Alan Shearer’s Premier League goals record, but only if he stays at Tottenham.
The Sky Sports pundit has said that the 28-year-old England international striker will not achieve that target if he moves to Manchester City.
The Sun reported in March that defending Premier League champions Manchester City want to sign Kane, having tried to take him to the Etihad Stadium in the summer of 2021.
Shearer scored 260 goals in 441 Premier League appearances in his career.
Kane has scored 178 goals in 277 Premier League games so far in his career.

Merson wrote on SportsKeeda: “Harry Kane’s transfer situation remains uncertain at Tottenham. It all depends on whether they can finish in the top four in the next few weeks.
“He has a chance of beating Alan Shearer’s record, and it can only happen at Tottenham. He can’t do it with a team like City, because he won’t play against many of the lesser teams in the Premier League.”
Tottenham striker Harry Kane will break Alan Shearer’s record
In our opinion, Kane will break Shearer’s record and will become the top scorer in the Premier League of all time.
It is only a matter of time.
Kane will turn 29 in July, which means that he would still have four to five seasons at least at the top level after this campaign.
If the striker moves to City, then he will get far many chances that he gets at Spurs now, which means that he will bang in the goals for fun.
