Tottenham Hotspur striker Harry Kane has said on BBC Sport that he is disappointed that he could not celebrate his goal against Newcastle United.

What’s the story?

Kane scored for the first time in the Premier League this season yesterday.

Tottenham got the better of Newcastle 3-2 at St. James’ Park in the league.

England international striker Kane found the back of the net in the 22nd minute.

The 28-year-old beat the Newcastle offside trap to dink in the ball.

However, Kane had to wait to rejoice.

That’s because there was a VAR check.

Harry Kane comments

Kane has admitted that it was disappointing that he could not celebrate his first Premier League goal of the season properly.

The striker told BBC Sport: “It’s a shame I couldn’t celebrate when it happened but VAR helped us out there.

“You play to the whistle. Stay focused in every moment, you never know with VAR, you need to play on.”

Harry Kane is about to explode

Ahead of the match, Tottenham head coach Nuno said that Kane will start scoring goals soon.

And now that Kane has finally scored in the Premier League this season, in our view, he is about to explode.

We would not be surprised if the 28-year-old striker – who earns £200,000 per week as salary, according to Spotrac – goes on and wins the Golden Boot in the Premier League this season.

Yes, Liverpool forward Mohamed Salah is leading the race with seven goals.

Leicester City striker Jamie Vardy has also scored seven goals in the Premier League so far this season.

But never write off Kane.

Never ever.
