Tottenham Hotspur striker Harry Kane has told Football.London that he thinks Tanguy Ndombele can provide what Spurs have been lacking – decisive passes in the final third.

Spurs took on Juventus on Sunday in the International Champions Cup, and went ahead in Singapore as Erik Lamela struck the opening goal.

Gonzalo Higuain and Cristiano Ronaldo hit back with quickfire goals for Juve, only for Ndombele’s first action in a Spurs shirt to be an assist for Lucas Moura’s equaliser.

Kane then hit a stunning winner, scoring from the halfway line in injury time to give Spurs a dramatic victory – but most of the talk was about Ndombele.

Tottenham’s new club-record signing came on as a second half substitute for his Spurs debut, and immediately intercepted a cross-field pass before driving forward and picking out a perfect pass for Moura.

That’s what Ndombele can provide, and exactly why Spurs have splashed the cash to sign him. Now, it seems that Kane is hugely excited about his arrival.

Kane has already spotted that Ndombele can play the final decisive pass in attack, believing that he can bring that attribute to the Spurs team having missed it for ‘the last year or so’.

Kane noted that Ndombele is still learning, but his early appraisal of Ndombele will leave fans hugely excited – and hoping to see such qualities in the Premier League rather than just friendlies.

“He’s been great,” said Kane. “He intercepted that ball very well and put that ball through to Lucas. That’s a strength of his – playing that through ball, that forward pass. That’s maybe something we’ve missed over the last year or so, that really decisive pass in the final third. He looks like he can do that.”

“With any player who comes in, he’s still learning – how we play and the way we want him to play, and the manager wants him to play. That’s all we can ask for,” he added.
