Tottenham Hotspur striker Harry Kane has told the Daily Mail that he thinks Son Heung-min has developed this season.
Spurs moved top of the table – admittedly only temporarily – on Sunday afternoon, as they beat West Bromwich Albion 1-0 at The Hawthorns.
Kane bagged the winner, heading home Matt Doherty’s cross to snatch an 88th minute winner and take Spurs briefly to the summit.
Leicester City ended up taking top spot off them, but it’s been a strong start to the season for Spurs, even with disappointments against Everton and West Ham United factored in.
One of the keys to the start to the season has been the partnership of Kane and Son, who have been simply sensational so far this term.
Kane has racked up seven goals and eight assists, whilst Son has bagged eight goals and two assists, with the pair regularly setting each other up.
Now, Kane has admitted that his game has developed under Mourinho this season having played a deeper role, picking out stunning passes whilst allowing Son to play further forward.
Kane thinks Son has developed this season too, emerging into a more attacking role and taking pretty much every chance he has had in a clinical start to the campaign.
“I think it’s been a development of my game and maybe Sonny’s game as well,” said Kane. “Obviously there’s been a lot of talk about me dropping deeper this year and finding pockets and playing those passes into Sonny and other players. The main thing, I think, is that we’ve been more clinical as a team. I think Sonny’s been taking pretty much every chance he’s been given so far this year! Whoever else that’s been playing or getting chances has been scoring as well,” he added.
