Tottenham Hotspur were quite simply not good enough against Burnley at the weekend.

Tottenham ace Harry Kane spoke to reporters after his side’s defeat to Burnley on Saturday, and admitted that he and his teammates did not have that extra gear in their locker needed to go on and win the game, as quoted by Sky Sports.
Spurs now sit six points adrift of league leaders Liverpool in the Premier League table, and five behind second placed Manchester City, with just 11 games remaining this season.
Many will criticise Tottenham for once again coming up short when the pressure was really on them, but it is hard to argue against the notion that they have punched above their weight this season.
The north London outfit haven’t signed a single player during the past two transfer windows, and it seems as though they are now paying the price for that.
Kane addressed the media after Tottenham’s defeat to Burnley, and suggested that his side just didn’t have another level needed to go on and beat Sean Dyche’s side, as quoted by Sky Sports:

“Obviously it was a big chance for us to get the three points and get that little bit closer. It’s a shame because, when we needed to find another gear, we didn’t have it in the locker.”
Tottenham do not have any time to dwell on their defeat to Burnley, with huge games against Chelsea and Arsenal to come over the next week, and nothing less than six points will do from those outings, if they are to remain in the title race.
