Tottenham Hotspur striker Harry Kane has revealed to the club’s official website what he and his teammates discussed during half time against West Ham United at the weekend.

Spurs got the better of West Ham 3-2 away from home at the London Stadium in the Premier League on Saturday afternoon, with Kane scoring twice.

“We were well in control at half-time and we said we’d come out, try to get the third goal and kill the game,” Kane told Tottenham’s official website.

“In fairness, we got the third but goals change games and whenever you give a team in the Premier League a sniff of a comeback they will try to take it, especially in a London derby. It’s all part of the game and we dealt with it well.”

Tottenham were the better team over the course of the 90 minutes against West Ham, although the way they allowed the Hammers to launch a comeback late will not have impressed manager Mauricio Pochettino.

The bottom line, though, is that Spurs won and picked up all three points from the encounter, as they continued their challenge for the Premier League title.

The North London outfit’s performances in the opening weeks of the season have not been great, but they have been encouraging and the fans should remain optimistic.

Spurs will take on Apoel Nicosia away from home in Champions League Group H on Tuesday evening.
