Tottenham’s Harry Kane goes off injured
Tottenham Hotspur striker Harry Kane has sent a message to fans after the club confirmed his ankle ligament injury.
Kane, 23, had been in scintillating form before Sunday’s FA Cup clash with Millwall, having hit 12 goals in his previous ten games including hat-tricks against Fulham and Stoke City.
The striker was hoping to continue his goalscoring run when Spurs took on Millwall, but his game was ended early as he was taken off with an ankle injury.
Kane hit a shot towards goal from the right hand side of the box, but sliding defender Jake Cooper came across to make the block, and Kane rolled his ankle after it was caught underneath Cooper’s leg.
Kane was immediately substituted, prompting fears that he could be out for a considerable amount of time. The striker suffered a similar injury against Sunderland back in September, which ruled Kane out for seven weeks, with fans understandably concerned about their star striker.
Tottenham confirmed on their official website earlier today that Kane has indeed damaged ankle ligaments, and whilst the injury is similar to the one suffered against Sunderland, it’s not quite as severe.

Spurs will now hope to have Kane back in action in the next four to six weeks, and the striker took to Twitter this evening to send a message to supporters.
Kane claims he always comes back stronger after injury, and he will be doing his best to do the same again, before thanking supporters for their messages of support.
