After eight years with the London club, Erik Lamela has left Tottenham Hotspur to join Sevilla in a swap deal that has seen Bryan Gil head the other way.
The Argentine’s departure has sparked a reaction amongst fans and players, and now Harry Kane has paid tribute to his former teammate.
Lamela was a cult hero at Spurs due to his passion, tenacity and skill, and Kane has sent him a message on Twitter after his exit was sealed.
It may only be 15 words, but Kane’s goodbye message to the Argentine is short and sweet.
Kane says that it’s been a pleasure to play alongside Lamela, and we can only imagine how much he’s enjoyed playing with him.
The winger has been fantastic in spells for Spurs, while his impact on the dressing room is incredibly obvious, with every player seemingly having good things to say about him.
Sadly, all good things have to come to an end, and Lamela has left Spurs for a new adventure in Spain.
Lamela may not have won any trophies during his time in north London, but we’re sure he’ll be remembered fondly by fans and players alike.
