The £30m signing has struggled for Tottenham Hotspur.

Tottenham Hotspur fans have understandably been a bit worried by Moussa Sissoko’s form this season.

The French midfielder is yet to score or set up a goal since joining Tottenham in a club-record £30 million move from Newcastle United in the summer.

Given the fact that he has played nine games for Spurs in all competitions, his statistics could be a little better, but are they going to improve massively from here on in?

The 26-year-old, who is yet to even set up a goalscoring chance in 445 minutes of football, might be one of the main beneficiaries of Harry Kane’s return from injury.

Sissoko has only shared a pitch with Kane for 84 minutes this season, before the latter suffered an ankle ligament problem in the middle of September.

Since then, the former Newcastle man has been charged with the task of setting up Son Heung-min or Vincent Janssen and, as time has proven, neither are in the same class as the England marksman – especially Janssen.

But with Kane set to be the man in the middle once again, Sissoko’s statistics are bound to stack up, playing alongside a striker who will get himself into the kind of positions which the big-money signing can find.

At the moment, Everton duo Yannick Bolasie and Romelu Lukaku are the Premier League’s most lethal combination, but a similar partnership could be struck up between Sissoko and Kane in the near future.
