There had been some uncertainty created when reports suggested that talks between the striker and Tottenham had stalled.
Tottenham’s Harry Kane
Harry Kane has issued the words that every Tottenham Hotspur fan would have wanted to hear over the last couple of weeks by insisting that he wants to get his contract at White Hart Lane sorted, the Daily Mirror reports.
The Mirror reports that talks between the striker’s representatives and Spurs had broken down recently as the 23-year-old looked for a significant pay increase on the £60,000 a week he currently earns.
That had prompted Manchester United and other big clubs to sit up and take notice, the Mirror adds, but Kane has seemingly shut the door on a possible exit by suggesting that he hopes to sign a new deal at Tottenham.
“Hopefully we will have no issues with the contract,” he said, as reported by the Mirror.
“I am happy at the club and want to be here for a long, long time. We are in talks and I’m sure we will get something sorted.

“We’ve got a great young team, new training ground, new stadium being built, great young manager. The future is very bright. It’s important that we keep hold of all our players and keep building on this great team that we have.”
The fact that Kane has expressed his desire to stay after talks reportedly stalled will surely provide a major lift to Mauricio Pochettino’s side.
Kane proved that the speculation would not unsettle him as he scored twice during the dramatic win over West Ham at the weekend, but having the deal completed would undoubtedly be even better for Spurs.

Having the England star become the latest player to commit his future to the club will not only help convince some of his teammates who may also be in talks over fresh terms about extending their stay, but it may also have an impact on their fortunes in the transfer market.
Seeing players such as Kane commit their long-term futures to Tottenham may help the club lure their targets to White Hart Lane as they can clearly see that the side is only going in one direction.
