Spurs enjoyed a superb season last time out but have had a lacklustre start to the new campaign.

Despite their lacklustre start to the new campaign, Tottenham Hotspur striker Harry Kane has not ruled out a Premier League title tilt, stating that it’s still early in the season and that “stranger things have happened”, in conversation with Sky Sports News.
Spurs enjoyed a great season last time out, finishing in the top four and reaching the Champions League final, so there was a lot of hope that the North Londoners would kick on and make a bright start to the 2019-20 campaign.
However, Tottenham have won just two of their eight games this season, were knocked out of the League Cup on Tuesday night by League Two side Colchester United, and have let several leads slip this season, including against Arsenal and away at Olympiacos in their opening Champions League group-stage game last week.
At present, Mauricio Pochettino’s side are 10 points behind leaders Liverpool in the Premier League, but despite Kane admitting that Tottenham must do better and the players must take responsibility, not to mention the quality of the Reds and current reigning champions Manchester City, he has not ruled out a title challenge.

“If this was January or February people would be saying there’s no chance of us winning it,” he told Sky Sports News. “Obviously it’s not the ideal start, but stranger things have happened. You can never rule yourselves out until it’s done.”
Up next for Spurs is Saturday’s Premier League meeting with Southampton at the Tottenham Hotspur Arena.
