Harry Kane has told the Telegraph that Mauricio Pochettino has shown huge faith in Tottenham Hotspur’s squad by not signing any players in the summer.

Spurs failed to bring in one new face over the whole of the previous transfer window, much to their supporters’ frustrations.

Tottenham’s stability looked to have actually benefited them in the early part of the campaign, as they won their first three matches.

However, Spurs have now lost two in a row, with their performances being poor.

And Kane insists that Spurs’ squad now need to repay the faith that Pochettino showed in them over the summer.

He said: “I said in regard to signing players the gaffer believed we had a strong squad and he did not want to sign players for the sake of it.

“It showed huge trust in the players and we have to repay it.

“Energy wise there was no fatigue, but it was not good enough with the ball. We will bounce back – through the season we are one of he fittest squads and we will continue to be this year.”

Kane has been one of Spurs’ players who looks the most heavily fatigued in the squad.

The striker’s form has been very poor, and he just hasn’t carried the same threat as usual.

Tottenham don’t really have the option of resting Kane, though, as they have a lack of other senior strikers, following Pochettino’s failure to bring in a new number nine over the summer.
