Tottenham striker Harry Kane says – as per Football Daily – he will relish the competition of facing Manchester City signing Erling Haaland and potentially Liverpool’s Darwin Nunez in the race for the golden boot.

Manchester City finally announced the complete signing of Haaland from Borussia Dortmund on Monday. The Norwegian striker has arrived at The Etihad, when it could quite easily have been Kane himself last summer.

Meanwhile, Liverpool are closing in on a deal for Benfica powerhouse Nunez. Benfica issued a statement regarding Liverpool’s move for Nunez. A medical is believed to be ongoing for the Uruguay international this week.

England skipper Kane was asked about both signings and the race for next season’s golden boot. He says that the increased competition will only continue to help get the best out of himself, in a Spurs shirt.

The battle for the golden boot is always tough. The Premier League has produced some top strikers from all over the world for a number of years now. It’s always been a battle to win the golden boot,” Kane said.

This is no different. You expect the top strikers to want to play in the Premier League. With those two signings, that is going to be the case. It helps me as a player to have good competition. It drives me to improve and get better.”

They are two more examples that prove why the Premier League is the best in the world. Haaland is arguably the best talent under 23 in world football, and Uruguay ace Nunez is not far off the Norwegian.

Both look ready-made for the Premier League. Strong, quick, score goals and are more than able to create too. Kane will certainly have his work cut out again in trying to finish above them in the goalscoring rankings.

But Kane will also have to continue to look at one of his own teammates as competition too – in Son Heung-min. The South Korea skipper finished above Kane, joint first last season, with Mo Salah.
