Trevor Sinclair has suggested on Twitter that Tottenham Hotspur striker Harry Kane is too expensive for Manchester City, and believes that Pep Guardiola’s side should have gone for Chelsea youngster Tammy Abraham instead.

The former City winger believes that £120 million as transfer fee for Tottenham striker Kane is too much.

The talkSPORT pundit thinks that the Premier League champions should have moved for Abraham when they had the chance.

Harry Kane and Tammy Abraham rumours

The Times reported last week that City are planning to make a bid of £120 million for Kane this week.

The Telegraph reported in July that Tottenham chairman Daniel Levy values the striker at £160m.

Sky Sports have reported that 23-year-old Chelsea striker Abraham has completed a medical and will join AS Roma for £34 million.

What Trevor Sinclair thinks

Sinclair said on talkSPORT (8:41am, July 26, 2021) that City should sign Abraham from Chelsea.

We covered the pundit’s comments here on HITC Sport at the time.

Sinclair has reiterated his stance on Twitter.

Harry Kane or Tammy Abraham?

Kane is one of the best strikers in the world and is at the top of his game now.

The 28-year-old guarantees goals.

The England international has scored 166 goals in 245 appearances in the Premier League so far in his career.

Now, Abraham is 23 and is a very promising young striker, but City know what they will get from Kane.

Also, don’t forget that Kane has evolved his game and can now also operate as a playmaker.

The Englishman scored 23 goals and gave 14 assists in the league last season.
