Tottenham Hotspur striker Harry Kane has told Good Morning Britain that Liverpool ‘deserve to win’ the Premier League title this season.

Liverpool are 25 points clear at the top of the Premier League, but there is severe uncertainty over whether the league will get going again.

Some supporters have called for the campaign to be voided, which would leave Liverpool without a title.

The Premier League have already insisted that is not an option though, and Kane also feels that Liverpool deserve to win the title now.

As things stand the Premier League are currently working on a plan to restart play in June, but difficulties do exist.

And Kane admits that it will be odd if Liverpool lift the title at Anfield with no fans in attendance.

“I’m happy to start training in small groups if we’re allowed and to try and get back to some normality as soon as possible. I guess every player is different and they all have their own view,” Kane said.

“It’s going to be a really difficult situation [playing without fans]. Liverpool deserve the title and to lift it without their fans will be a really strange situation.

“We haven’t been through a time like this in my lifetime so it’s hard to know what the right thing to do is. The fans are a massive part of football. They make football what it is so it will be different to play without them.

“I’ve done it before for England and it’s not the same. But if we want to finish the season we’re going to have to do that.”

Liverpool only need two victories to mathematically confirm themselves as league winners, so their title win is an inevitability once the league does get back underway.

Tottenham, meanwhile, will be looking to break back into the top four – but they will need to finish the season very strongly to have a chance to break into the Champions League qualification spots.
