Harry Kane has told Sky Sports that Harry Winks’ England debut provides another reason why Tottenham’s Mauricio Pochettino is one of the world’s best managers and that the Argentinian cannot be thanked enough.

Winks became the latest Spurs player to make his debut for the Three Lions in recent times as he started and arguably starred in England’s win with Lithuania that rounded off their World Cup qualifying campaign.

The squad for this break consisted of five Tottenham players meaning that Spurs contributed more members of their squad than any other side did. And another of their key men, Kane – who scored England’s only goal against Lithuania – suggested that Pochettino is the man who deserves a lot of the credit.

“(These players earning their England debuts) show Mauricio’s one of the best managers in the world, if not the best,” he said, as reported by Sky Sports.

“He brings players through, gives them chances on the big stage and they deliver for him. We can’t thank him enough for that. He deserves all the credit. He helped us get to where we are now, and Harry is another player under his management.”

With Spurs’ squad providing much of the nucleus of the current England team, Tottenham will surely receive a boost when they go after young, English players in the transfer market in future.

Young starlets will see the likes of Kane, Dele Alli and Eric Dier becoming regulars in the national side and youngsters like Winks getting their chances, and will surely feel that working with Pochettino can only boost their chances of representing their country.
