The Tottenham Hotspur striker has been prolific again this season.
Tottenham Hotspur striker Harry Kane has revealed that he is determined to keep improving so that he can match Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo.
Kane has continued to score with regularity for Tottenham this season and scored 56 goals for club and country in 2017, surpassing the tallies of Messi and Ronaldo.
However, Kane admitted that he still has a long way to go to match the feats of the Barcelona and Real Madrid stars.
As reported by goal, Kane said: “When you look at Messi and Ronaldo, I’ve obviously still got a long way to go before I can be compared to them but it’s a start and that’s what I want to do: keep improving and be up there one day.
“That’s always the goal – to be bracketed with the best players in the world. Messi and Ronaldo have set that standard for so long now.”
There is little doubt about Kane’s prowess in front of goal, but in order to truly be compared with the likes of Messi and Ronaldo, the 24-year-old needs to win trophies with regularity, which is something he may not be able to achieve at Tottenham.
It will certainly be intriguing to see whether Kane elects to remain at Tottenham for the long-term, especially if he is the subject of interest from major foreign clubs.
However, for now Kane will be fully focused on continuing to score with regularity for Tottenham as he looks to claim the Premier League golden boot for the third season in succession.
